About Me

Welcome!

This space chronicles my journey as a writer and celebrates the books, stories, and voices that inspire me. Alongside my own work, I share reviews of fellow authors—because for independent writers, reviews are essential—and I hope this site becomes a resource and gathering place for readers and writers alike.

My love for writing began in childhood, sparked by a teacher who once praised a simple essay where I gave personality to my shoelaces. Her words—“You have the gift, develop it”—stayed with me and set me on the path to becoming an author.

Over the years, that encouragement has carried me through countless rewrites and experiments across genres. I eventually published my first book, A Doorbell, A Dictator, A Dad, with the support of my dear friend and fellow author Darby Patterson. Since then, I’ve released Shards of Time: A Memoir (creative nonfiction), Quarantine Wisdom (a compilation of my blog during the pandemic), and most recently, A Practical Guide to Sigbin Keeping: A Cozy Fantasy on the Island of Fire, Siquijor (2024).

Writing feels like home to me, though I’m still growing into the title of “author.” It’s a journey—one I’m grateful to share with you here.

With gratitude,
